Why Boycott Burgerville? |
Show Your Support! |
In April of 2016, the Burgerville Workers Union (BVWU) delivered demands to corporate headquarters for $5/hour raises for hourly employees, affordable healthcare, a safe and healthy workplace, fair and consistent scheduling, and a sustainable workplace that supports working families.
Burgerville has responded by refusing to negotiate and firing union members. BVWU is one of the only fast food workers unions in the USA, but Burgerville workers will not have a livable wage, decent healthcare, childcare, or subsidized transportation until corporate formally recognizes the union and agrees to negotiate. We are asking the Pacific Northwest to join with us and pledge to boycott Burgerville until the company does right by the workers and signs a contract with the union! Learn more about why we're boycotting here! |
The Burgerville Workers Union's strength lies in the support we receive from the local community and the broader fight for worker justice. That's why we are calling on the PNW to stand with BVWU!
There are numerous ways to support the boycott in addition to pledging not to patronize Burgerville stores until corporate signs a contract with BVWU. You can sign a pledge card, show up to actions, and volunteer with the union. You can also support workers materially through donating to BVWU's Organizers of Color Stipend Fund. Each contribution and act of solidarity helps support workers as they fight for better jobs and better lives. |
